Mutton liver is very soft in texture & slippery portion of the lamb. Its a good source of vitamin A & iron. And also very good for lactating women and young children. It is best for increasing haemoglobin levels in blood and many more.

Mutton liver fry is a common dish loved by mutton lovers all over the world, which is healthy & does not take much time to cook. We can just boil the mutton liver and fry in   spices, it really tastes delicious. Making mutton liver fry mainly with pepper, gives the best flavour. So, I always prefer mutton liver pepper fry. And this recipe is very easy & simple with less ingredients, even then it's mouthwatering... 


There are various recipes for liver fry, as you can fry with the spices as you desire, but be careful not to fry too much as it become hard & rubbery. And this can be served as best side dish for rotis & rice. 
If you love mutton liver, definitely you should go for this recipe, which is very tasty that the onions are roasted along with the liver and pepper which makes this dish flavourful. 

On top of all these, I prepare this dish in iron wok, which gives an extra taste. Dishes which prepared in iron vessels or clay pots gives natural taste more than prepared in other vessels. So try this trick in your cooking and enjoy  the authentic taste. 


 So, here is the easy steps for mutton liver fry  :

Preparation time: 5 minutes 
Cooking time : 25 minutes 
Serves :2-3 persons

Ingredients :-


  • Mutton liver - 250 grms (cut into small pieces) 
  • Onion - 1 medium sized (thinly sliced) 
  • Green chilly - 2-3 (cut into slits) 
  • Ginger -  1 inch piece (roughly chopped) 
  • Garlic cloves-  2-3 (roughly chopped) 
  • Turmeric powder -  1/2 tsp
  • Pepper powder -  1tsp
  • Curry leaf - 2 tblsp
  • Coriander leaf -  a handful (chopped) 
  • Salt  - to taste 
  • Oil - 3 tblsp



Instructions :-


  1. Heat oil in a iron wok, add onions & saute it for 2 mins.              
  2. Then add ginger &  garlic, and roast it for few seconds.                 
  3. When the onions are soft, add the mutton liver, which is washed well and drained. Close the lid &  let it cook for 5 minutes on medium flame.                                                                 
  4. Now add turmeric pwd, pepper pwd &  salt into it and  mix well. And fry all together until all the water from the liver dries up.                                                                                         
  5. When the liver is almost done, add green chillies, curry leaf and coriander leaf. And fry for 2 minutes and all ingredients are well roasted with the liver.                                       
  6. Turn off the flame and keep closed, and it's ready to serve.....
