BREAD PUDDING 




 SHAHI     TUKRAY 


                         


      Shahi tukray is a famous north-indian dessert , simple and yummy with less ingredients too. Very simple to make but delicious  which we can make our guests feel happiest. And also this is a healthy and rich dessert served with silver leaf, Saffron & pistachios. It can be served chilled to make more tastier. 




    Ingredients :

  • Bread slices - 5 - 6
  • Milk - 3 cups
  • Condensed milk - 1/4 cup ( you can also add sugar as                                     per your requirement) 
  • Cardamom powder  - 1/2 tsp
  • Cornflour  - 1 tblspn 
  • Ghee - for shallow frying Bread 
  •  Almond sliced  - 1-2 tsp
  • Pistachio sliced - 1-2 tsp
  •  Saffron /zafran - 1-2 pinch      
         For sugar syrup :



  •          Water - 1/4 cup 
  •          Sugar - 1/4 cup


      Procedure :     

                Pour milk in a bottom thick vessel & keep it to boil on medium flame taking  out 3-4 tblspn of milk to make cornflour mixture. Add condensed milk & give a stir in between,you can also add sugar if more sweetness needed. Also add cardamom powder to it, which gives good aroma & flavour to the milk. Make smooth mixture of cornflour mixing with remaining milk. Let the milk comes to the boiling point, reduce the flame to simmer, slowly add cornflour mixture into milk and keep stirring constantly until the milk boils well & becomes thick. The consistency should be not too thick or too loose. Add zafran and turn off the flame &  keep it aside. When it is at room temperature, transfer to fridge and let it chill till served. 
          Next take a pan, add some ghee and shallow fry the bread slices till it gets Brown shade on both sides. And our Bread slices are ready to serve. 
           For sugar syrup add sugar and water in a vessel and boil well till all sugar is dissolved. You can also add cardamom pod or 2 drops of rose water, it's optional . let it cool at room temperature.  When serving dip each & every Bread slices in this  sugar syrup and serve.  

Serve this dessert on a serving plate or tray as first half of the milk mixture then assemble Bread slices dipped  in sugar syrup on top, then again goes the remaining milk mixture on top it. Atlast garnish with sliced almonds, pistachios & zafran. And also garnish with silver foil to make it more rich. 
Enjoy this delicious dessert soon after assembled..... 

Note: try not to refrigerate as served.
